Also includes treatment of cracked teeth and dental trauma. Endodontic treatment is done to save the teeth from diseased dental pulp. Successful Endodontic  root canal therapy depends on the elimination of the microorganism from the root canal system through the use of Diode laser  in the root canal therapy .Nickel-titanium (Ni Ti) Rotary files to Endodontics  almost changed the way root canal preparation are performed. Regenerative endodontics uses the concept of tissue engineering to restore the root canals to a healthy. Most endodontists offer tremendous flexibility in accommodating emergency cases, so delays in treatment are kept to a minimum and patients can be relieved of dental pain quickly. Many endodontists use state-of-the-art technology such as operating microscopes, digital imagingultrasonic instrumentation and fiber optics, to treat their patients quickly and comfortably. Today, getting root canal treatment is often no more uncomfortable than having a filling.

Track 8: Dental anaesthesia

Dentists inject anaesthetic to block sensory transmission by the alveolar nerves. The superior alveolar nerves are not usually anesthetized directly because they are difficult to approach with a needle. For this reason, the maxillary teeth are usually anesthetized locally by inserting the needle beneath the oral mucosa surrounding the teeth. The inferior alveolar nerve is probably anesthetized more often than any other nerve in the body. To anesthetize this nerve, the dentist inserts the needle somewhat posterior to the patient’s last molar.

Dental sleep medicine is an area of dental practice that focuses on the use of oral appliance therapy to treat sleep-disordered breathing, including snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Approximately 25 million adults have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which can cause them to stop breathing hundreds of times a night for anywhere from a few seconds to more than a minute. Sleep apnea is a chronic condition that occurs when your muscles relax during sleep, allowing soft tissue to collapse and block the airway. As a result, repeated breathing pauses occur, which often reduce your oxygen levels. These breathing pauses are followed by brief awakenings that disturb your sleep.

The need for better dental marketing has increased with the public’s awareness, as well as industry need to develop better services. Because of the flood of information on the internet, average new patient is more aware and educated concerning the aesthetic options available today from a dentist. As a result, a higher quality dentist is being requested that .they have to develop a Comprehensive Marketing Strategy.Dental marketing program is not complete without comprehensive internet marketing. By now, most dental practices possess a fairly upscale website. The next key to your cosmetic dentistry marketing plan is to constantly enhance the user experience of website.

Track 16Oral Microbiology and Pathology

Oral microbiology is the study of the microorganisms of the oral cavity. Oral microflorae can cause dental plaques and is a common cause of dental caries and periodontal disease. It is the specialty of dentistry and pathology that deals with the nature, identification, and management of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. It is a science that investigates the causes, processes, and effects of these diseases. It is the division of dentistry which deals with the diseases of oral and Para oral structures and provides an understanding of which is essential for diagnosis and for the development of rational treatment. The practice of oral pathology includes research, diagnosis of diseases using clinical, radiographic, microscopic, biochemical, or other examinations, and management of patients. Oral pathology is a discipline that deals with the study of causation and treatment of oral diseases: diseases of the mouth, jaws and related oral structures like salivary glands, temporomandibular joints etc. The oral pathology can be considered a multi-disciplinary topic- a combination of dentistry and pathology.

Dentistry is a branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, commonly in the dentition but also the oral mucosa, and of adjacent and related structures and tissues, particularly in the maxillofacial area. Dentistry is often the first line of defense for the oral health and hygiene of a person. Dentistry is important for overall health. Dental treatment is carried out by the dental team, which often consists of a dentist and dental auxiliaries . The majority of dental treatments are carried out to prevent or treat the two most common oral diseases which are dental caries and periodontal disease. Common treatments involve the restoration of teeth, extraction or surgical removal of teeth, scaling and root planing and endodontic root canal treatment.

Dentistry is one of the most rewarding professions to pursue. Through education, diagnosis and treatment, dentists provide the public with an essential health service. Research is continuing to show that the link between oral health and general health is strong.

FUTURE OF DENTISTRY:

Advances in dental research, including genetic engineering, the discovery of links between oral and systemic diseases, the development of salivary diagnostics and the continued development of new materials and techniques, make dentistry an exciting, challenging and rewarding profession.

Dentists are instrumental in the early detection of oral cancer and systemic conditions that manifest in the mouth. They also can serve as first responders in the event of a large-scale health emergency. Interest in high quality dental education and research continues to increase in the region, and USA remains flexible and agile in response to the changing dental market.
